How to Change the Outside Shower on an RV

If your RV's outside shower doesn't work, it might be time to swap it out. Here are some steps to follow to make the process go smoothly:

backyard

Cut a hole

First, you need to find the proper location of the outside shower. This will depend on whether you have a flush or a gravity mounted unit. If you have a flush mounted outdoor shower, you will need to cut a hole into the rig, while other showers require only a small hole. In addition, you might want to upgrade the shower head to give yourself a more luxurious experience.

Install an outdoor light

Some RVers have both an indoor and outdoor shower. Using the kitchen flexible tap can be convenient and can help prevent dirt from tracking inside the RV. However, it does not mean that you won't have privacy - many shower designs have a curtain loop at the top. Then, you're ready to tap into the water lines. Finally, you need to install an outdoor light that can illuminate the entire shower area. Solar lights like the GoalZero CrushLight are ideal for this task.

Install an outdoor shower

When installing an outdoor shower, you can install it or make it portable. Depending on your needs, you can choose from portable outdoor shower kits, which contain a showerhead and a submersible pump. A gravity-fed outdoor solar shower uses a dark-colored bag that holds water and a showerhead. This bag is hung from a high point. The water then runs to the showerhead.
